The Twelfth meeting of the Global Leaders Group (GLG) on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) will be held virtually and chaired by H.E Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley on 22nd October 2025 from 16:00 to 18:00 CEST. The GLG comprises world leaders and experts from across sectors working together to accelerate political action on AMR.

The GLG works in six priority areas and collaborates globally with governments, agencies, civil society, and the private sector through a One Health approach to advise on and advocate for prioritized political actions for the mitigation of drug-resistant infections through responsible and sustainable access to and use of antimicrobials.

The Quadripartite Joint Secretariat (QJS) on Antimicrobial Resistance, a joint effort by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), provides secretariat support for the GLG.

During this meeting, five new GLG members will be introduced, followed by a progress update on implementation of GLG priorities in line with the 79th UNGA Political  declaration on AMR. The Chair of the Steering Committee of the AMR Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) will be present to discuss MPTF advocacy with GLG. The discussion will then be expanded to talk about broader financing and strengthening the governance of AMR response.

A meeting report will be available on the GLG website after the meeting
