Summary note for the Information Session on the 5th High Level Ministerial Conference on AMR including the Ministerial session on AMR governance structures

Overview

The Global Leaders Group (GLG) convened an information session on 15 October 2026 to review preparations for the 5th Global High-Level Ministerial Conference on AMR (6–8 December 2026, Abuja, Nigeria), consider the ongoing consultation on the draft Abuja Compact, and seek strategic input on the Ministerial session on strengthening global AMR governance structures.

The session was chaired by the GLG Interim Chair, Honourable Minister Jakob Forssmed, with participation by the H.E Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Nigeria, GLG members, invited former GLG members, representatives and Quadripartite organizations.
