Summary note for the technical session on establishment of the Independent Panel on Evidence for Action (IPEA) Against AMR

Overview

The 2024 United Nations General Assembly Political Declaration on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) invited the Quadripartite organizations (FAO, UNEP, WHO, WOAH) to establish an independent panel on evidence for action against AMR (IPEA) to facilitate the generation and use of multisectoral, scientific evidence to support Member States in their efforts to tackle antimicrobial resistance. This GLG technical session sought feedback and strategic insights from GLG members as part of the consultation process for establishing the IPEA. GLG members and/or their technical staff and Quadripartite representatives participated in the session.
